Health and Social Care Volunteering Fund voted one of top three grant funding programmes in UK

HSCVF awardOffering an innovative blend of grants, business expertise and sector specific support for more than 100 local health and social care projects, the Health and Social Care Volunteering Fund (HSCVF) is delighted to be a runner-up in the prestigious DSC Social Change Awards 2011.

They were nominated for the award by Daniel Greenwood, Major Supporters Development Manager, Diabetes UK, who said: “HSCVF’s online application process was smooth and user friendly. They have been very supportive post grant award and accommodating - the team at HSCVF are polite, helpful and efficient. HSCVF are willing to embrace and fund innovation and also recognise the value of the programme supporting people from BME communities to tackle diabetes, funding rolling out the programme in 11 new cities with diverse communities.”

"We are extremely proud of having reached the shortlist of just three from 600 nominations” said Carolyn Hay, Director of HSCVF.  “We have only been in grant making for the past two years and are delighted that one of our projects has acknowledged our work in such a high profile way.”

The achievement was also applauded by Olivia Butterworth, Voluntary Sector and Big Society Programme Manager, at the Department of Health who said: “We are delighted to hear that the Health and Social Care Volunteering fund has been awarded a runners-up prize in the Directory of Social Change ‘Great Giving Funders Award’.  This is a reflection of the commitment to quality and continuous improvement, guided by feedback and engagement with applicants, shown by the Ecorys partnership.”
